Need a Well Dug on Your Property?
Not Sure If You Need Deep or Shallow Wells?
When people think about water wells, they usually think they are very deep. However, did you know that there are some wells which are deeper than others? Like most of the other services you use in your home, well drilling is not one which one-size-fits-all solution. Local water well drillers such as Oasis Irrigation know what the water table is like in the Orlando, FL area. And we can assess your property and help you to determine exactly which well you need. Below is some information that may help you to understand the difference between
and deep wells.
What Is a Shallow Well?
When you have a shallow well, it basically means your water source is quite close to the surface. Your local water drillers will measure the water table and then calculate at what depth your well needs to be dug. This means projecting the low point of a water table over the entire course of a year, this should include any drought conditions.
Shallow wells
are cheaper to drill due to the fact there is less labor and materials needed. You will, however, need a shallow well pump for any well which is 25 feet or under. However, these pumps cannot be
submerged
. Instead, they will be placed in a
well
housing, and some come with features to prevent the motor from burning out.
What Is a Deep Well?
As the title suggests, these are needed when the water table is deeper underground. Should your property sit on certain kind of rock, then a deeper well could be needed. Because the water is coming from so deep underground, these wells will have more protection against contamination than water which comes from closer to the surface.
